iGLEAMS 3 – A 3D MIGS Extravaganza

Chrysostomos Dimitriou, Glaucoma Lead, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT)
Dan Lindfield, Head of School for Ophthalmology, Kent, Surrey and Sussex, UK.

Welcome to the third edition of iGLEAMS in Colchester. This event promises to be our most impressive yet.

I am delighted to present our comprehensive two-day program, which highlights the latest innovations, trends, and research in glaucoma, brought to you by our esteemed faculty. We are especially proud of our immersive 3D Cinema video experience. Our venue offers one of the best ultra HD 3D experiences in the UK; imagine TopGun Maverick on an iMax screen, minus the flight suits and Tom Cruise!

The schedule speaks volumes, featuring prominent names, viewpoints, and speakers from the UK and beyond. We are thrilled to have Prof Crawford Downs from Alabama, USA, and Prof Keith Martin joining us from Melbourne via Zoom, alongside a recorded introduction by Prof Ike Ahmed, an international authority on MIGS. Additionally, our national MIGS expert, Leon Au from Manchester, will deliver the keynote lecture on the “Battle of Schlemm’s Canal.”

This event caters to all levels. For many, it will be an introduction to MIGS, offering hands-on experience with various devices. Experienced MIGS surgeons will witness the latest advancements and data in the field. Experts will delve deeper into topics like aqueous angiography and outflow discussions, critically analyzing the data. It’s an excellent opportunity to network with peers in both medical and industry circles. Conversations over coffee and lunch may lead to valuable collaborations and friendships, much like how Chrys and I first met, leading to the creation of iGLEAMS.

With a heartfelt welcome, I hope you find these two days engaging, stimulating, and inspiring.

Mark your calendars! Join us on Monday, 30 September at Firstsite and Tuesday, 1 October at the ICENI Centre, Colchester, UK.
